As of next week, the state authorities will regularly inform the public about food pricing practices, caretaker Minister of Agriculture Yavor Gechev told journalists in Plovdiv at the opening of the International Agricultural Exhibition "AGRA". According to Minsiter Gechev, there have been speculative price hikes, with the biggest anomalies observed in the prices of dairy products.

In his words, it is not normal for some locally-produced foods to be more expensive than those in France or Italy, for instance. The state will start monitoring statistics on the prices of similar products in the neighbouring countries, Minister Gechev said further. In his words, legal texts related to the unfair practice definition were being fine-tuned to enable the state to take additional measures.
