Prof. Daniela Popova from Sofia’s Queen Giovanna Hospital says that obsessing over food ingredients – constantly looking for healthy food components, focusing on fat and salt content, non-acceptance of anything but organic food - can lead to orthorexia and bigorexia. “Such people are obsessed with counting calories and looking for a certain kind of food but this disrupts their normal social life and they become manic,” she says.
