Bulgaria marks the 80th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews during World War II and commemorates the victims of the Holocaust with a host of events in 2023. President Rumen Radev is the patron of the commemoration, which will be marked with some 50 events outside the country. Bulgaria's diplomatic and consular missions will introduce foreign audiences to the historic events that led to the saving of the lives of more than 48,000 of our compatriots of Jewish origin in Europe's darkest times, the Foreign Ministry said.
An international conference on "The Role of Lawyers in the Rescue of Bulgarian Jews" will be held today at the Sofia St. Kliment Ohridski University.
