Electronic prescriptions should take effect on May 1

Ordinary white prescriptions that are not under a special regime will be issued via a mobile application as well, caretaker Minister of Health Assen Medjidiev and caretaker Minister e-government Georgi Todorov announced. The e-Rx application will be used from a mobile phone or tablet when the doctor is unable to use a computer with medical software.

 E-prescriptions had to fully replace paper prescriptions at the end of 2022, but more time was given at the insistence of doctors. White paper prescriptions will not be issued after May 1, 2023. After that date, they will only be prescribed electronically, which will relieve more than 280,000 patients", caretaker Deputy Minister of Health Katya Ivkova explained.
