Russian Su-27 fighter jets forced an American drone to crash into the Black Sea. The White House and the Pentagon condemned the incident, and the Russian Defense Ministry said its fighter jets did not come into contact with the American drone. Washington claims that the drone was flying in international airspace when it was intercepted by two Su-27 fighter jets on the morning of March 14. According to TASS, the reason for the fall of the drone was a sudden maneuver.

Moscow views the incident over the Black Sea as a provocation, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said after being summoned to the State Department for an explanation. The American side has protested because of "unprofessional actions" by the Russian side, Antonov said. He stressed that Moscow is not interested in confrontation, but in pragmatic relations with Washington, Reuters reports.

The European Commissioner for the internal market, Thierry Breton, will visit the Bulgarian military factories in Sopot on March 15. There he will meet with representatives of the Bulgarian defense industry and talk with the caretaker Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov and the Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Irina Stonova. Breton's visit is part of the EU's initiative to urgently increase the production of ammunition for Ukraine.
