Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Europe, Leo Docherty, is paying a visit to Sofia. Bulgaria and the UK have been working on a strategic partnership agreement, the British Embassy in Sofia reported.

The visit is a demonstration of solidarity with Bulgaria in its efforts to support Ukraine and our shared work with international partners to hold Russia to account, the embassy said. Leo Docherty will have talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov, Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev and Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov. The embassy added that the two countries are close allies in NATO and London is committed to strengthening relations even more, including in areas such as security and trade.
