Bulgaria's Bansko hosts FIS Snowboard Junior World Championship

A procession led by mummers in the Bulgarian resort of Bansko opened the FIS Snowboard Junior World Championship. Competitors and coaches walked the course from their base at the Strajite Hotel to the bottom station of the gondola where the ceremony was held. 

The championship was opened by the race director of the International Ski Federation, Peter Krogoll

The starts begin on March 24 with a parallel giant slalom. 

Snowboarders from Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland, Ukraine and the USA have arrived for the competition.
