Arranged in the spirit of rock, the classic "Blue Evening" (“Sinya vecher”) now has its modern version performed by young musician Toma Zdravkov. Well-known to the older generations of Bulgarians the original score, performed by the inimitable Kiril Semov and the Bulgarian National Radio's Big Band, turned into an evergreen. Blue Evening is an emblem of Bulgarian pop-jazz from the late 1950s. Today, Emil Georgiev's music and Naiden Valchev's lyrics are re-born in the style of Toma and his repertoire.
It was Rumen Boyadzhiev's idea for this special arrangement. Music producer of the song is Teodor Yankov. Sound recording is done by the following musicians: keyboards and programming - Rumen Boyadzhiev, guitar - Petar Glavanov, bass - Martin Hristov, drums - Teodor Yankov, backing vocals - Stanislava Hristova, brass - Ivan Borodzhiev and Alex Vitkov.
Asked for his consent for "Blue Evening" to be re-arranged poet Naiden Valchev says: "Of course, with the greatest pleasure! The beautiful songs of the past need to be recreated by talented performers just like Toma, so that they can have a new life and a new audience. This makes them timeless!"
