Caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev and Regional Minister Ivan Shishkov cut the ribbon at a ceremony marking the opening of the new 6.5-kilometre section of the Europe Motorway between the Kalotina border crossing and Dragoman.

"This motorway is important for both countries. Before it was a narrow road with many accidents and I am very happy that we are opening it. The highway is important because it connects the people of Bulgaria with the rest of the nations of Europe. It is the fastest route from Asia to Central and Western Europe, and it has existed since Roman times. The Thracians called the Bulgarian lands Europe before the continent was called so," Donev said and promised that by the end of May the whole road to Dragoman will be ready and the construction of the last lot will begin.
