New centre to develop programmes and practices to counter terrorism

A centre for the study of extremism and terrorism opened at the G. S. Rakovski Military Academy in Sofia today, as part of this country’s sgtrategy of consolidating national security and preventing acts of terrorism.

The head of the centre Colonel Petar Marinov pointed to several of the tasks of the centre: training of staff working in the sphere of security, scientific research and development of innovative approaches to counteracting terrorism, as well as popularization of the effective sharing and application of the best civilian and military practices.
