Bulgarian taekwondo players win three medals at the 2023 European Club Championships

Taekwondo players Denis Dimitrov, Alexandra Georgieva and Kalina Boyadzhieva won bronze medals at the 2023 European Club Championships (Day 3).

In the men's 63kg category Denis Dimitrov defeated Ryan Hogg (Australia), Hamad Almabrouk (Saudi Arabia) and J. Van Vulpen (Netherlands). In the semi-finals, however, Dimitrov was defeated by the Olympic vice-champion - Mohamed Jendoubi (Tunisia).

In the women's 49kg category, Alexandra Georgieva defeated Ekaterina Ignatyev (Spain), Sharon Wakoli (Germany) and Beyza Nur Gungor (Turkiye), and lost to Lena Stoijkovic (Croatia) in the semi-finals.

In the +73kg vategory, Kalina Boyadzhieva started with a win over Artemia Kitsiou (Greece). She failed to qualify for the semi-finals after losing to three time world champion and double Olympic medalist Bianca Cook (Great Britain).
