The MPs elected the composition of 25 permanent parliamentary committees. The work of a committee will be led by a member appointed by the Speaker of the Parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov.
This became possible after the MPs adopted an addition to the regulations for their work. The non-standard decision was reached after for three weeks they failed to form the committees and reach a consensus on appointing chairpersons due to the lack of a governing majority.
