Prosecutor's Office suspends disclosure of information about alleged assassination attempt against prosecutor general

The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office has expressed disagreement with the comments made so far regarding the explosion that went off next to the car of the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev, as the pre-trial proceedings are in the initial stage and it is not possible to reach a definite conclusion about what happened on May 1.

The institution reports that the supervising prosecutors did not allow persons who did not have the right to be there to the scene of the accident. The prosecutors also did not order the performance of investigative actions with the participation of an expert outside the list of the competent court.

A team of three Sofia City prosecutors is leading the investigation, according to a statement from the state prosecution. According to a decree issued yesterday, materials on the investigation cannot be disclosed without the permission of the supervising prosecutor.
