Serbian poetry is the focus of the May edition of the Slavic Embrace International Festival of Poetry

The Serbian language is the focus of the May edition of the 17th Slavic Embrace International Festival of Poetry held between May 15 and 18. In March the festival featured the Croatian language, in April – the Russian language. The Polish language will be the focus of the festival in June.

Academician Risto Vasilevski, Ljiljana Steic, Vera Horvat and Jasminka Nadaskic-Djordjevic are to arrive from Serbia to attend the May edition of the festival.

On May 15, the town of Kyustendil hosts the creative meetings, followed by Veliko Tarnovo – May 16 and Dobrich - May 17 and 18. The event is held under the auspices of President Rumen Radev. The Slavic Embrace International Festival Poetry is an international project which pilot edition was set in Varna in 2007. In the same year the Slavic Literary and Artistic Academy was established as well. Today it has branches in all 11 Slavic countries as well as in 5 other European states. The main purpose of this forum is to bring closer the cultural values on the basis of the common proto-language and cultural heritage of Slavs.
