Late last night, a foreign citizen aged 52 was shot dead in the Saints Constantine and Helena resort near Varna on the Black Sea, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports.

The man is an Ukrainian businessman who does not have refugee status. According to preliminary information, the man travelled to Ukraine and back to Bulgaria in the course of his business. The deceased's business is being checked for its legal status, BNR correspondent Daniela Stoynova reported from Varna.

The incident took place last night, the Varna police press centre has announced. A burnt car with foreign registration was found near the scene. The car, however, is not the victim's, but most likely belonged to the offender, who is now wanted. An investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
