Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Iotova expressed concern that the resignation of the government of the Netherlands may delay the country's decision to greenlight Bulgaria's entry into Schengen. The Dutch government collapsed on Friday after failing to reach a deal on restricting immigration.

Iliana Iotova attended the Banitsa (traditional cheese pie) festival in the village of Balvan (Veliko Tarnovo district). In her words, the criticism of President Rumen Radev after Volodymyr Zelenskiy's visit "aims to divert the attention of the public from what the cabinet committed to President Zelenskiy during the meeting which was closed to the media”. Iliana Iotova said that the meeting between Rumen Radev and President Zelenskiy was open to the media, while the meeting between the government and Zelenskiy was held behind closed doors. According to Iliana Iotova, "the different opinions and positions of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense on Friday show that there is definitely a desire to hide something from the Bulgarian public".
