Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov heads the Bulgarian delegation in Vilnius for the NATO 2023 summit, which will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday. Among the members of the delegation are Defence Minister Todor Tagarev, Defence Chief Admiral Emil Eftimov and Deputy Foreign Minister Tihomir Stoychev.

The summit in Lithuania will be dominated by the alliance's response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Kiev's membership bid. The main decisions to be taken at the summit are expected to be on the Alliance's continued political and practical support to Ukraine, building on the decisions of the Madrid Summit (2022) to strengthen the Alliance's deterrence and defence capabilities, and adopting a new commitment to defence investment.
