Annual inflation below 10% in June

In June, the monthly rate of change of consumer prices in Bulgaria was negative -0.4 per cent and the annual inflation rate for June 2023 against June 2022 was 8.7 per cent, the National Statistical Institute said. 

Deflation in the overall index was reported for the second time this year, after prices fell by 0.1 percent in May compared to April. 

But for groceries, inflation remains above the psychological 10 percent and stands at 13.3 percent. For milk, dairy products and eggs, the annual rate of price increase is as high as 19 per cent. While transport has become cheaper by 13.7% in one-year.
