A request for extending the measures against Ukrainian agricultural imports in five EU countries is to be submitted to the European Commission that will make the final decision, Minister of Agriculture Kiril Vatev has reported.

Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania call on extending the embargo on the import of grain products from Ukraine, which expires on September 15. In order to protect their own agriculture, the five countries want the measure to be extended until the end of the year. According to Kiril Vatev, Bulgaria has a problem with the imports of just three products - sunflower, unrefined sunflower oil and dry milk.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food opened the first ever wine festival "Discover it! Local Wine" in the village of Oreshak, where exhibitors from Bulgaria and Romania present their products.
