A bas-relief of Japanese samurai Seigo Yamazawa (1846 – 1897), a participant in the liberation war of Bulgaria and a supporter of the Bulgarian national cause, will open today in the seaside resort of St. Vlas. The ceremony will be attended by Japan’s ambassador to Bulgaria Narahira Hiroshi. The monument has been placed in the Lane of Nations in the marina, where there are bas-reliefs of Bulgarian national heroes Vasil Levski and Hristo Botev, of American journalist Januarius MacGahan, of Giuseppe Garibaldi, of German poet and playwright Schiller and other world figures.
