Social tension has been growing among people working in two executive agencies of the Ministry of Agriculture - "Combating Hail" and "Fisheries and Aquaculture". They have declared their readiness to protest if their demands for a salary rise were not met, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions in Agriculture told BNR.

Despite a series of protests at the second reading of the 2023 budget, the salaries of field workers in the Ministry of Agriculture system were not raised. Because of this, the federation started a protest petition demanding a 15% wage rise. The average salary in both executive agencies is a little over 500 euros a month.
