Citizens from the civil association "BOETS" protested in front of the building of the Sofia District Governor with the demand to dismantle the Monument to the Soviet Army in the capital city. Protesters accused politicians and institutions of inaction on the decision already taken to dismantle the monument. In 1944, during World War 2, the Red Army occupied Bulgaria and a communist regime was established.
Georgi Georgiev, Chairman of "BOETS", said for the BNR that the civil pressure would continue until they see real action. For a start, protesters demand that the sculpture compositions and bas-reliefs at the base of the monument be removed.
