Twice as many foreign tourists from different countries are arriving in Bulgaria for adventure tourism this summer compared to last year. "The season is shaping up to be a really good one," said Lyubomir Popyordanov, chairman of the Mountains and People Association, to BNR.

Preferred activities for foreign tourists are trekking, climbing, horse riding, bicycle tourism, children's adventure camps, vacations in guest houses.

"The advantages of Bulgaria are the wealth of natural resources in a very small territory, which are highly appreciated by German, French, Spanish and English-speaking tourists," Popyordanov emphasized.

For this type of tourists, most attractive are places with little human presence, preserved nature and traditions as well as good cuisine that does not require massive hotels and hotel service.
