After a thirty-year hiatus, the Bulgarian rhythmic gymnasts have triumphed again. Zhenina Trashlieva, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Radina Tomova became champions in the team competition at the 40th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Valencia. In 1993, again in Spain, but in Alicante, Maria Petrova, Yulia Baycheva and Branimira Markova, currently the head coach of the national team, conquered the world peak.

Now the team world title is again with Bulgaria, despite the serious mistakes made by the Bulgarian group yesterday and the unenviable 14th place in the combination of hoops and 12th place in the all-around.

Bulgaria's individual gymnasts - Boryana Kaleyn (with silver medals on clubs and ribbon) and Stiliyana Nikolova (bronze medal for the ball routine), as well as the Bulgarian group collected a total of 330,150 points. Thus, they left behind the teams of Germany (326,350 points) and Italy ( 323,850t.). Debutant Eva Brezalieva who played only the ribbon routine also contributed to the team standings.

Until the end of the world championship, today's final in the all-around among the individual athletes, where Stiliyana Petrova and Boryana Kaleyn will take part, as well as the finals of the individual equipment among the groups tomorrow, when the Bulgarian girls will perform on three ribbons and two balls, remain.
