Bulgaria is ready to treat 17 people injured during the explosions at a gas station in Romania

Minister of Health Hristo Hinkov (L) and Deputy Minister of Health Boyko Penkov (R)

Bulgaria is ready to treat some of the people injured during the explosions at a gas station near the Romanian town of Crevedia, the Ministry of Health said. Two people died and more than 50 were injured in two explosions at an unlicensed liquefied petroleum gas station north of Bucharest.

Bulgaria has organised the logistics to accomodate some of the injured in Bulgarian hospitals. The initial request to us was to help treat 8 people, but their number increased to 17, Bulgaria’s Minister of Health Hristo Hinkov said. 7 of them can be hospitalized in the Military Medical Academy in Varna, 6 in Pirogov Emergency Hospital in Sofia, and two in private hospitals in Plovdiv and Ruse. "The patients are in a serious health condition, with more than 50% burns", Minister Hinkov added. No Bulgarians were reported injured.
