After days of effort, rescuers have pulled out the American researcher and speleologist Mark Dickey who was trapped more than 1,000 meters underground in Turkey's Morca Cave.

The scientist ended up in a critical situation after suffering a stomach bleeding on September 2.

150 rescuers from seven countries participated in the complex and large-scale operation, 19 of them Bulgarians, BNT reported.

The Bulgarian team from the Cave Rescue Association was the second to respond to the rescue operation. It is Bulgarians who brought down banks of blood for the victim. A Bulgarian doctor and paramedic accompanied Mark Dickey as he was taken out of the cave on a stretcher, said Henri Hazdai of the association.
