Bulgaria ranks 35th in the world in terms of financial wealth of the population

The gross financial assets of Bulgarian households in 2022 reached 123 billion euros. The sum per capita is 14,510 euros. According to the Allianz Global Wealth Report, Bulgaria ranks 35th in the world according to this indicator. The country climbed one place compared to the previous year. In 2002, when the research was done for the first time, Bulgaria held 43rd place.

The survey takes into consideration money on deposit, securities and participation in pension and insurance funds. In Bulgaria, bank deposits reach 100 billion euros. Their annual growth is 10%. Money in pension and insurance funds shrank by 3%, while the decline in shares and securities was 0.1%. The report also tracks household debts. While in 2021 they rose by 10.8%, in 2022 the growth is already 11.1%.
