Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church to discuss question of Russian church

The Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church is meeting today to discuss the question of the Saint Nicholas of Myra church in Sofia, better known as the Russian church. The church was locked by the Russian embassy in this country, after Bulgaria expelled three clerics from the church for espionage in favour of Russia. The Holy Synod has to decide whether the church is to be opened, or remain locked.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor’s office commissioned the State Agency for National Security to look into whose property the church and the adjacent terrain is.
