Grigor Dimitrov will play in the round of 16 at tennis tournament in Shanghai

Bulgaria's top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov qualified for the round of 16 of the Masters tournament in Shanghai. The 18th-seeded Bulgarian eliminated the 13th-seed Karen Khachanov from Russia 7:6 (6) and 6:4 after an hour and 57 minutes of play. 

The Bulgarian tennis player was very solid throughout the match, not allowing a single break and was more decisive in the key moments, although the match was temporarily interrupted due to rain.

Dimitrov now has four wins in four matches against Khachanov.

In the round of 16 in Shanghai, Dimitrov might face the leader in the scheme Carlos Alcaraz. Later today, the world number 2 Spaniard will play against Britain's Daniel Evans.

Dimitrov has lost all three of his matches against Alcaraz so far, with two of them being played in 2023. The Bulgarian has played against Evans six times, and their balance is 3-3 wins.
