Almost one-third of entrepreneurs in Bulgaria are women

If women receive equal representation in entrepreneurship, high-tech and engineering, that would lead to profits running to trillions and would make Europe more competitive, the European Commission believes, said PM Nikolai Denkov in an address to the participants in the Global Women Leaders' Forum organized in Sofia by the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria. The forum is discussing ideas and practices of individuals, companies and organizations for a more sustainable, stable and equal society.

Women account for 30% of the entrepreneurs in Bulgaria. In high-tech, female representation is 41%, considerably higher than the European average. “So that there is much to be proud of, but there is still much to be done,” the Bulgarian prime minister said.
