For the first time in Bulgaria, a wireless pacemaker was implanted directly into the right ventricle of the heart through the femoral vein. The two-hour operation was performed by Assoc. Two patients (a 67-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman) were the first in Bulgaria to receive this state-of-the-art treatment. The pacemakers implanted for the first time in Bulgarian patients are made by an American company.
