Weather forecast for Bulgaria for 19 November 2023

Snowfall expected in many parts of Bulgaria

At night, under the influence of a cyclone, the meteorological situation in Eastern Bulgaria will become more complicated. A stormy and temporarily hurricane-like north-northwest wind will blow. It will be cloudy with precipitation, which in most areas, even along the Black Sea, will turn into snow. 

A snow cover will form in the Ludogorie region, in Eastern Stara Planina Mountain, in the mountains Strandzha and Sakar, and in the western half of the country there will be no significant precipitation. 

The minimum temperatures will be 0°-5°C, slightly lower in the valleys of Southwestern Bulgaria; in Sofia - about 0°C. 

On Sunday, before noon, the precipitation will also stop in Eastern Bulgaria, around noon, the cloud cover there will break and decrease. The north-west wind will weaken and in most of the country it will be strong, and along the sea coast it will still be stormy. 

Maximum temperatures will be between 5°C and 10°C, lower in Northeastern Bulgaria; in Sofia - about 6°C.

There will still be some snowfall over the mountains before noon, but around noon the snowfall will stop and the clouds will break. A stormy northwest wind will blow. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 m will be about 2°C, at 2,000 m - about minus 3°C.

Along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast around noon, the precipitation will stop and the clouds will break. The wind will weaken, but will remain strong and temporarily stormy. The maximum temperatures will be between 6° and 9°C, and the sea water temperature – 10°-16°C. The sea state will be rough, with waves.

The weather before noon in the eastern regions of the Balkans will remain mostly cloudy, windy and in places with rain and snow. It will be 16°C in Athens, 10°C in Bucharest and Istanbul, 8°C in Belgrade.

Over the Iberian and Apennine peninsulas, southern France and the Mediterranean, sunny weather will prevail and it will remain warmer than usual. The weather in Western and Central Europe will be mostly cloudy, windy and in many places with rain, in Eastern Poland and Western Belarus mostly snow. Snow will fall on the Scandinavian Peninsula, as well as in Germany, Denmark and the Benelux countries. In the central regions of the Eastern European Plain, it will be relatively cold, but mostly sunny. In Madrid and Rome it will be 19 degrees, in Paris and Munich – 14, in Vienna – 8, in Stockholm – 1, in St. Petersburg – minus 1, in Moscow – minus 4.

It will be 24°C in Melbourne, 23°C in Cape Town, 13°C in Chicago, 12 °C in New York.
