Opposition parties in Bulgaria criticize Austria's conditions for entry into Schengen

The government is turning Bulgaria into a huge refugee camp, the chairman of the "Vazrazhdane" party, Kostadin Kostadinov said. "In exchange for air and water Schengen, we have agreed to take back illegal migrants who have already passed through our territory on their way to Western Europe. In other words, our country will slowly turn into a huge camp for Asians and Africans," Kostadinov said.

No other country has been subject to such Schengen requirements, BSP leader Korneliya Ninova commented. The responsibility for the failure lies entirely with GERB because the foreign minister and the chairman of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy are from this party, Ninova added.

The Austrian conditions envisage strengthening of land border controls, with Bulgaria and Romania accepting migrants who entered Austria.
