The mountain rescuers from the mountain resorts of Bansko, Razlog and Dobrinishte rely mainly on donations to secure equipment, clothing and off-road vehicles to be well prepared to save lives.

They often invest their own money for this, reported BNT. One of the latest donations to the Mountain Rescue Service in Razlog is an all-terrain snowmobile provided by a local businessman. Fewer and fewer people are willing to volunteer due to underfunding, reported the Bulgarian Mountain Rescue Service.
