River tourism with catamaran in our country - mission possible

River tourism in Bulgaria is extremely underdeveloped, despite its great potential, especially along the Danube. However, a local company hopes to change this by creating a product that will attract tourists. They are entrepreneurs from Varna who produce a wide range of boats. Their latest project, already in the testing phase, is an electric catamaran. It will link the north-eastern Bulgarian town of Silistra with the Romanian town of Calarasi.

The cost of the vessel, which can carry 28 passengers and two crew, is €745,000. It is 14 metres long and 6 metres wide. Powered by two electric motors, it can travel at up to 13 km/h.

In 2021, the company has produced another tourist catamaran for the municipality of Burgas.
