Boyko Borissov: Bulgarian and Austrian businesses should turn to the Austrian chancellor

Vasil Velev, the chairman of the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria, called for a boycott of Austrian initiatives, goods, shops and gas stations on the territory of Bulgaria. His proposal is because of Austria's refusal to allow Bulgaria's accession into the land borders of Schengen.
The appeal caused reactions in the country, including from the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov.

"It is a mistake to boycott Austrian businesses in Bulgaria. Austrian businesses here are actively working for our acceptance into the Schengen area," Borissov said at a briefing. He recommended that Bulgarian and Austrian business in Bulgaria "should jointly address the Chancellor of Austria and their political leadership, because this is to the detriment of both countries".

Bulgaria's full membership in Schengen will be beneficial for both Bulgaria and Austria, believes Borissov.
