The Ministry of Education was not informed about the sale of ''Shkolo'' to a foreign company. Following the news of the acquisition, the Ministry of Education referred the matter to the State Agency for National Security and the Commission for Personal Data Protection. The ministry does not have a contractual relationship with ''Shkolo'', but many Bulgarian schools are their clients. The ministry will take all necessary steps to protect the educational institutions.
The ministry has already sent a letter to Juniper Education, the UK's largest provider of educational software and services. It demanded the immediate provision of all available information about the sale. The case is indicative that it is appropriate to use the National Electronic Information System for Pre-School and School Education (NEISPOU) which is currently being used by more than 830 schools, the Ministry of Education said.
