The Bulgarian government is providing EUR 1,386 million in grants to finance projects in the countries of the Western Balkans, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, the cabinet press office said. The projects are under the Mid-term Programme for Development Assistance and Humanitarian Aid of the Republic of Bulgaria, with priority on the countries of the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership.
In the Western Balkans, 25 projects will be funded with over EUR 795,000. North Macedonia receives support for universal health coverage, human rights protection and democratic reforms. In Serbia and Albania, the projects will support socioeconomic development, quality education and access to health services. In Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, support will be directed towards education in kindergartens and schools. Montenegro will receive support for the healthcare sector. In Moldova, Armenia, and Georgia, 9 projects are funded with over EUR 283,000. The funds are allocated for the development of administrative capacity, intercultural dialogue and healthcare.
