Tennis: Three Bulgarian players with victories at tennis tournament in Antalya

Bulgaria’s tennis players Gergana Topalova, Isabella Shinikova and Rositsa Dencheva achieved victories in the first round of the tennis tournament in Antalya, Turkey, with USD 25,000 in prize money.

Gergana Topalova won versus Dimitra Pavlou, Greece by 7-6(1), 6-7(1), 7-6(4) after 3 hours and 24 minutes of play. Topalova’s next match will be against Paula Ormaechea, Argentina.

Isabella Shinikova won versus another player from Greece – Martha Matoula by 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in one hour and 53 minutes of play. In the round of 16 she will be facing Cagla Buyukakcay, Turkey.  

Rositsa Dencheva won hands down – by 6-1, 6-1 – against Lucie Havlickova of Czechia after 68 minutes of play. The next match of the 16-year old Bulgarian player will be against Cristina Dinu of Romania.
