Bulgarian Socialist Party distances itself from its municipal councilors in Sofia

At an extraordinary meeting, the executive bureau of the Bulgarian Socialist Party has categorically distanced itself from the actions of the municipal councilors of the BSP in the Sofia Municipal Council and removed political trust from them, BNT reported. 

The distinction was reached after the municipal councilors did not comply with the decision of the BSP National Council to nominate the candidacy of Diana Tonova for the chair of the Sofia Municipal Council and not to vote for another candidate. The corresponding party penalties are to be imposed at the next meeting of the National Council.

In a position published earlier, the BSP-Sofia state that they supported the election of the chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council yesterday with a clear awareness and deep conviction in the correctness of this decision.
