The Varna City Council has adopted a declaration calling for the withdrawal of the bill on the construction of wind power plants in the Black Sea, public broadcaster BNT reports.

34 councillors voted in favour of withdrawing the bill, while four voted against. The discussion was initiated by councillors from the Vazrazhdane party, representatives of the Varna Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers, fishermen's associations and environmental organisations.

The declaration against the construction of RES will be sent to the National Assembly.

So far, municipal councils in Shabla, Balchik and Kavarna have spoken out against the bill.
