Tsvetana Germanova, the last surviving woman who was repressed as a prisoner in the camps of Belene and Bosna, has passed away at the age of 95.

Tsvetana Germanova was born on March 20, 1928 in the village of Leskovets, Pernik region.

From 1942 to 1946, she studied at the Pernik-based girls' high school. She applied for studying agronomy at Sofia University, but was not accepted as she did not have the approval of the new Communist authorities.

On December 16, 1948, she was arrested because of an organized meeting of young anarchists in the Gigen Monastery. She was sent to the forced labour camp in the village of Bosna near the town of Silistra.

In December 1951, she was moved to the Belene camp where she stayed until April 20, 1952.
In 1957, she graduated from the Mining Technical College in Pernik and worked in mines around Bulgaria. In 1948, she married Lubomir Germanov, also an anarchist. The two, together with their children, were repeatedly displaced by the communist authorities.
