PP-DB tabled bill to protect traffic data

Users' traffic data would have to be stored in encrypted form by telecom operators and other Internet service providers, and only a court could order it to be decrypted if necessary for the investigation and prevention of serious crimes. This is according to a bill submitted to the National Assembly by Bozhidar Bozhanov and a group of MPs from the We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) coalition. The sponsors believe that this will prevent the use of the information for the purpose of tracking, while at the same time it will not impede their legitimate use for the investigation of serious crimes.
