Businessman Vasil Bozhkov, currently under house arrest on several charges, including unpaid taxes of half a billion leva (250 million euro) from gambling activities, announced that he had launched a new political project - a national movement "Centre". "For 35 years, a mafia calling itself politicians has been cheating us.
Bulgaria has no education, no economy, no health care," Bozhkov said. The aim of the formation is to "save Bulgaria and our people from destruction". It advocates the rule of law, democracy, cultural identity and the adoption of best practices from other countries. The movement is led by Darin Drossev, a professor of logic and philosophy at Sofia University.

Bozhkov's previous political project, Bulgarian Summer, was not allowed by the CEC to take part in the November 2021 elections.
