The government will continue to fulfill its official obligations until the election of a new one. This was what Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov said during the discussion of the draft decision for accepting his resignation submitted by "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB).
Denkov expressed readiness to continue with the implementation of the governance program with the new Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel. He thanked Mariya Gabriel and the MPs who supported the cabinet and pointed out that the key sixth point in the program, which provides for the creation of a mechanism for prior agreement between the parliamentary groups on the nominations for the regulatory bodies elected by the parliament, is yet to be fulfilled.
"It is time to take this decisive step together, to show consistency and respect for the benefit of people and business, by going to the end of the path of reforms that we embarked on nine months ago," Denkov pointed out and added that political courage was needed, in order for Bulgaria to have independent judges and prosecutors.
