Bulgaria is in 81st place in the world when it comes to happiness, marking a rise of four positions compared to the past year in the study of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, which covers 143 countries and territories.

Bulgarians remain among the unhappiest Europeans in Europe. Behind Bulgaria are just North Macedonia (84), Albania (87), Turkey (98) and Ukraine (105). However, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Latvia are the countries with the greatest growth in the happiness index for the period 2021-2024. Unlike most other countries, in Bulgaria young people feel the happiest. If only the answers of the youngest Bulgarians are taken, the country would be in 40th place, but with the answers of only the elderly, it goes all the way down to 90th place

Finland is the happiest country in the world for the seventh year in a row.
