Outgoing prime minister suspects SANS hides information about the customs

Prime Minister Denkov asked the State Agency for National Security (SANS) for information about their operation in the customs and the detention of the head of the agency, Petya Bankova, but such information was refused with the argument that permission from the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office was required.

"What we know as facts is that since the appointment of Petya Bankova, we have had a record amount of seized drugs. It is important to understand what is happening, so that it does not turn out that she was attacked because she was doing her job," Denkov said. "There have been rumors circulating, you can see them in the media, that SANS was covering up drug trafficking channels. Mrs. Bankova was an employee of SANS. I will not be surprised if she has information," Denkov added during a live broadcast on Facebook, where he answered questions.
