Bulgarians, Romanians, Serbs and Ukrainians are the main participants in the most dangerous criminal networks for human trafficking in the EU for labor and sexual exploitation. This is according to the data in a Europol report released today.

According to the document, 821 dangerous criminal networks operate in the EU. They are related to drugs trade, mainly cocaine, cigarettes, human trafficking and extortion.

86% of criminal organizations also have legitimate businesses, most often in construction and hospitality, and in this way they launder money, said Europol director Catherine de Bolle.
