The 148th anniversary of the April Uprising - a turning point in the struggle for the liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman rule, will be marked today with a reenactment in the town of Klisura. Dozens of members of the "Tradition" association in original costumes and armed with authentic old weapons will recreate the historical events - the announcement of the uprising, the revolutionary drive, the battles around the town and the bloody suppression of the rebellion. The military historical reenactment consists of 3 parts, each taking place in a different place - on the square where the uprising was announced, the old church "St. Nicholas", from where the insurgents started their way to the heights of the Zli dol area, where the first cherry cannon was fired, making the beginning of the uprising, BNR Plovdiv reports.

The first reenactment of the historical events in Klisura dates back to 1896.
