Bulgarians in Seattle organize May readings

A real meeting marks the beginning of the virtual Literary Festival "May Festive Readings", which since 2020 has been organized by the Society for Poetry and Literary Prose "Glagolnitsa" at the Bulgarian Cultural and Heritage Center of Seattle.

Bulgaria for advanced learners - this is the theme of the discussion that will bring together Bulgarians in Seattle on May 11. It is prompted by Svetlozar Zhelev's collection of the same name, in which various people connected to our country through language, kinship or the call of the heart give their answer to the question "How to love Bulgaria."

The location of the discussion is no coincidence - it will take place from 15:30 to 17:30 local time at the art-space The Reading Room (2862 NW Market St, Seattle WA 98107), which opened in February. The Bulgarian community has donated 300 books for it, and Maria Apostolova is providing the space and artwork.

"We will be reading various things from Bulgaria for Advanced Readers. We will share thoughts and impressions. We will talk," reads the organizers' Facebook invitation.

The festival "May Holiday Readings" will continue until May 24.
